EOS and Ford - series production of customised 3D printed locking wheel nuts

More than 100 years ago Ford changed the automotive industry by introducing efficient serial production processes. Today Ford uses EOS 3D printing to marry the need for security with the desire for individualisation.

Together with car manufacturer Ford and software supplier Trinkle, EOS has developed a solution to manufacture customised locking wheel nuts with the EOS M 290 using StainlessSteel 17-4PH. The 3D printed nuts prevent wheel and tire theft by using a unique biometric signature based on the car owner’s recorded voice.
