Mazak Slant Turn 800 - built for extreme cutting performance

Designed to handle demanding heavy-duty cutting operations, the Mazak Slant Turn 800 delivers exceptional power, big-bore capacity, and high-torque performance for machining long, large-diameter workpieces.

Targeted at sectors such as energy, oil and gas, mining, aerospace, and heavy equipment manufacturing, the Mazak Slant Turn 800 efficiently processes tough materials and heavy components, including drill pipes, casings, large control valves, and turbine shafts.

The Mazak Slant Turn 800 combines rigid structural design with high-horsepower spindle options and smooth motion control to meet heavy industrial demands.

Take a closer look at the Mazak Slant Turn 800 specifications.

High-torque spindle and gearbox

At the core of the Mazak Slant Turn 800 is a headstock featuring a 4-step hydraulic gear shift paired with a high-output 60 kW (80 HP) spindle motor. Delivering up to 12,174 N·m of torque, the machine maintains full cutting power even in low-speed ranges, making it ideal for tough alloys and heavy metal removal. Its generous Φ260 mm spindle bore allows large-diameter tubing and long shaft workpieces to pass through with ease.

Heavy-duty structure and precision guidance

Built on a high-rigidity slant bed design, the Mazak Slant Turn 800 utilizes linear roller guides across the axes. This configuration dampens vibration during heavy roughing cuts while providing precise positioning and smooth rapid traverse feedrates.

Flexible workpiece holding and tooling

15-Position Drum Turret: A heavy-duty non-lift drum turret enables rapid tool indexing and accommodates large turning tools and boring bars (up to Φ63 mm shank diameter).

Support for Long Workpieces: The machine accommodates maximum machining lengths from 3,013 mm (3000U model) up to 4,033 mm (4000U model).

NC Servo-Driven Tailstock: Offers high hydraulic thrust (up to 35 kN) to maintain workpiece stability during aggressive machining operations.

Front and Rear Chuck Options: Supports front and rear-mounted chuck configurations for secure clamping on long pipes and casings.
