Following the positive results achieved with previous Mazak investments, Aldus Engineering has expanded its advanced manufacturing capability with the purchase of a third Mazak machine, an Integrex i-630V/6 multitasking machining centre.

The decision reflects Aldus Engineering's ongoing strategy to invest in world-class manufacturing technology that enhances capability, productivity and precision for customers across Australia's advanced manufacturing sectors. Equally important was the confidence provided by the applications expertise, technical support and service capability delivered by John Hart and Mazak.
Aldus Engineering is an Australian-owned precision manufacturing company supplying high-accuracy CNC machined components, mechanical assemblies and integrated production support solutions to customers operating in aerospace, defence, medical, food processing, automotive and other critical industries. Operating from a modern 4,000 m² manufacturing facility in Heidelberg West, Melbourne, the company continues to invest in technologies that strengthen Australia's sovereign manufacturing capability.
The addition of the Mazak Integrex i-630V/6 brings Aldus Engineering's machine fleet to 35 advanced CNC machines, further expanding its ability to manufacture complex, high-precision components while supporting growing customer demand for shorter lead times, greater accuracy and increased production flexibility.
The Integrex i-630V/6 is a heavy-duty vertical multitasking machine that combines full 5-axis milling, high-performance turning and automated pallet-changing capability within a single platform. By enabling multiple machining operations to be completed in one setup, the machine reduces handling, improves dimensional accuracy and enhances overall process efficiency, particularly for large and highly complex components.
For Aldus Engineering, the investment is about far more than increased capacity. The machine provides the capability to manufacture increasingly sophisticated parts that would traditionally require multiple machines and setups, improving quality, repeatability and throughput while reducing production risk.
The Integrex's two-pallet changer further supports productivity by enabling unattended operation and off-cycle setup activities. Operators can prepare and inspect parts on one pallet while machining continues uninterrupted on the other, maximising spindle utilisation and supporting efficient production scheduling.
Equipped with Mazak's next-generation MAZATROL SmoothAi CNC control, the machine incorporates advanced digital technologies including artificial intelligence, machine learning and enhanced data management tools. These capabilities support improved process optimisation, machine performance and production visibility, helping manufacturers achieve higher levels of efficiency and consistency.
For Aldus Engineering, the investment reinforces its commitment to providing Australian industry with world-class precision manufacturing capability, while for John Hart it reflects the value of delivering not only advanced machine tools, but also the local expertise, applications support and service required to help manufacturers maximise their investment.
