Another ground breaking step for ACIM

A new Mazak Quick Turn 350MY has just been delivered to ACIM, to help meet the growing demand for the inflatable packers, hydraulic fracturing systems and tools the company designs and manufactures. “This will take the pressure off” said one of the owners of ACIM, Anthony Coleman.

The Clayton Victoria based manufacturer business was established in 1990. Anthony commented: “When we decided to bring manufacturing in-house during 2013, we did not imagine we would end up having a manufacturing facility that would include three Mazak machines.”

Anthony continued: “The first Mazak we purchased was a Quick Turn Smart 350M. We chose Mazak because it was very easy to learn, and because we had help from John Hart to produce parts straight away to make good on our investment.”

Strong business growth triggered the purchase of a second Mazak in 2019, a Mazak VTC-530/20. “The two Mazaks working together enabled us to further enhance our production processes, cut down production costs and reduce our overall manufacturing time” said Anthony.

ACIM’s latest acquisition, the Mazak Quick Turn 350MY brings together advanced technology, productivity and value to deliver the performance they need to keep up with the growing demand pressures.

Anthony explained “We chose the Mazak Quick Turn 350MY because the machine features milling capability and Y-axis functionality, plus the machine comes equipped with the SmoothG CNC control.”

The MAZATROL SmoothG CNC optimizes programming and makes it easy to generate programs for processing complex parts through off-centerline machining as well as milling and tapping. The control incorporates a wide variety of advanced programming functions that allow it to offer complete ease of use and ensure high-speed, high-accuracy machining performance.
