Following the success of their 2018 investment in a Mazak VCN-530C, Oilpath Hydraulics have decided to invest in another one, and add an Agile Flex robot machine tending system for unmanned operation.
Located in Edwardstown South Australia, Oilpath Hydraulics designs and manufactures systems that include integrated hydraulic control manifolds utilising HydraForce cartridge valves to provide industry-leading solutions. In 2016 Oilpath became the 5th largest international HydraForce distributor in the world.
The Mazak VCN-530C vertical machining centre brings advanced technology, performance and value to a wide variety of applications for Oilpath. The VCN-530C offers the highest productivity in this class of vertical machining centres and is designed to process large parts or multiple workpieces in single machine setups.
Oilpath had the machine fitted with a factory integrated 4th axis, programable hydraulic fixture clamping and a raised column.
Contributing to the machine’s productivity are reduced cycle times thanks to high speed feedrate, acceleration/deceleration and tool change. The Mazak VCN-530C boasts a federate of 42 m/min, a 12000 rpm spindle speed and a chip-to-chip time of 2.8 seconds.
The machine is equipped with durable linear roller guides on all axes, and the unique Mazak heat compensation system - INTELLIGENT THERMAL SHIELD to ensure stable machining.
The VCN-530C offers excellent accessibility thanks to two front doors providing a wide opening and a large window for convenient monitoring of machining.
The user-friendly MAZATROL SmoothG CNC featured on this machine offers EIA/ISO programming as well as conversational programming that makes it easy to generate programs for angled drilling, milling or tapping operations.
The Agile Flex will be covered in a future article when installation has been completed.
The Oilpath story began in the mid 1970s when the company founder saw a gap in the market for directional control valves to be delivered better in Australia. Soon, the OP20 was born, instantly becoming the industry benchmark. In 1993 Oilpath began designing and manufacturing Hydraulic Control Manifolds to compliment the directional control product, and are now a leader in this field.
Oilpath is located in Adelaide with distributors in all states who proudly stock a large range of Oilpath products. The company continues to be proudly Australian owned and operated.
Oilpath are passionate believers in the innovation that exists in Australian manufacturing but also understand the importance of a global supply chain, including many key suppliers and key customers all around the world such as HydraForce, the world’s largest hydraulic cartridge manufacturer.
